Ticks

Ahh! I need suggestions for tick products that work. Right now our product is my fingertips... picking those that I see, but Spyder has some in places that I'd rather not touch... and I think he agrees from his tail swishing and antsy antics when I try to get them!

Are there any tick products out there that work? I have talked to a few of the fellow boarders, but the consensus is that nothing is that great, and they will just move to places that aren't covered. Hmmmm....

  1. I swear by this:

I feed SmartPak's Smart BugOff, which seems to help some, and my vet reccomended Adams Fly and Tick spray... It's pricy, but it seemed to go 2 or 3 days between applications. If you use fly boots, you can spray them generously around the bottom and that should help, too.

Ticks just gross me out! **shudder**

    1. Oh wow! For having grown up in the woods, I have never seen that ticked off product. Love the name! Thanks for the suggestions. My fly spray does prevent ticks, but I don't get out enough to make it really last. They spray in the summer, but I doubt it's really as much as I would do. I think that ticked off will get those "hard to reach" places, but I still don't think Spyder is going to like me trying to get them. They are gross! Blah!

  2. Eeeeewwwwwwwwww. I hate ticks but haven't had to deal with them since 1981. I used a product that required full facial gas mask and body suit. I hope there is something available now that isn't as toxic as what I used then.

I hate ticks . . . I am currently dancing around my office making shuddering movements. Creep me out worse than spiders. Or roaches.

    1. Ticks are super disgusting! They don't spray at the farm, but I wasn't sure if there was a solution to the issue w/o the harmful chemicals... like you said. I hate touching them, but I do it and cringe the entire time! Sorry to have made you dance around the office!

  3. Feed through garlic. Inexpensive, natural, and really works.

    1. Dom,
In what quantities, and from what sources, do you feed your garlic? How do you prepare it and how long is it good for? Please share all the juicy details!!
